In partnership with Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, Théâtre du Châtelet is running a new series of concerts this season comprising a morning session reserved for schoolchildren and a lunchtime session for all ages. The format for both sessions is the same: a contemporary work or a ten-minute devised piece, followed by a discussion with the composer or a musician. Then, building on the insights gleaned from the discussion, the work is performed a second time and interacts with a major work of classical music.
Sivan Eldar likes delicate atmospheres, cultivates poetry, sweetness, ethereal songs. All the same, her career exudes a beautiful sense of solidity. Born in Israel, Sivan Eldar began singing and playing the piano at an early age. When she arrived in the United States, she continued her musical studies by turning to composition, without neglecting other subjects: the environment, politics, technology… In 2016, she joined Ircam, in Paris, where she is currently in residence. Solicited by ensembles such as Quatuor Diotima, invited by the Royaumont Foundation, she also enjoys collaborating with authors and directors, and is currently working on her first opera. Faced with the thunder of Beethoven 7th Symphony, she has created a work where the multiple talents of Amy León, singer, poet and performer, are clearly on display.
