Biographie

Nominé par deux fois, pour ses apparitions dans des comédies musicales, aux « Laurence Olivier Awards » (Marguerite en 2009, A Little Night Music en 2010) et aux « What’s On Stage Awards » (The Sound of Music en 2007, A Little Night Music en 2010), Alexander Hanson est un habitué des grands théâtres londoniens : National Theatre (Follies, Candide, The Merchant of Venice, Troilus and Cressida…), London Palladium (The Sound of Music), Haymarket Theatre (Marguerite), Menier Chocolate Factory (A Little Night Music, The Truth), Vaudeville Theatre (An Ideal Husband), St James Theatre (Accolade), Aldwych Theatre (Stephen Ward), Rose Theatre Kingston (Wars of the Roses, Single Spies), Park Theatre (The Gathered Leaves), Hampstead Theatre (Cracked, The Memory of Water), Donmar Warehouse (Enter the Guardsman, Brel), O2 London (Jesus Christ Superstar)…

Ailleurs au Royaume-Uni, on le voit notamment au Royal Theatre de Bath (The Truth), au Festival Theatre (Uncle Vanya, A Little Night Music, Translations) et au Minerva Theatre (Tonight at 8.30) de Chichester. Il participe également aux tournées de Jesus Christ Superstar et Copenhagen, et se produit à Broadway dans A Little Night Music.

Également très sollicité à la télévision et au cinéma, il enchaîne les tournages : The Chelsea Detective, Midsomer Murders, Pandora, Holby City, London’s Burning, The Man Who Crossed Hitler, Party Animals, The Bill, Auf Wiedersehn Pet, Murder City II, The Fugitives, Rosemary & Thyme, Fellow Traveller, Museums of Madness… Au cinéma, on le voit dans Papadopoulos & Sons de Marcus Markou, Kidulthood de Menhaj Huda et Mauvaise Passe de Michel Blanc.
